May is right around the corner and that means Spring is coming to a close and Summer is on the way. In my mind, May is the month that pastels fade into warmer tones of red and orange. Still a month full of life, but it’s not new and fresh like in April. May makes me thinks of being outside in the garden. The greenery of plants sprouting up and the soft, moistened bed of dirt the plants are emerging from.
I’m in love with the books I chose for this month. I love the illustrations for each book and even books as simple as Flora and the Chicks, seem to sink into my heart because the pictures are so endearing. I featured a few books that made me think of Mother’s Day (Guess How Much I Love You & Are You My Mother?) and I also brought out one of my favorite Shel Silverstein books, The Giving Tree. But as always, I had to include some books I was less familiar with and I’m glad that I did!
I hope everyone’s month of May is great. I’m going to try and make more of an effort to play outside with my daughter and maybe even start an herb garden in my backyard. I’m determined that Central Florida’s rising temperatures won’t keep my family inside! I know it’s still considered Spring but it was starting to feel like Summer last month, so we’ll see how this goes. Don’t forget to leave book suggestions in the comments down below. I love to hear about people’s favorite books!
